Though only two Queens of this name who have ascended to the throne the impact they made during their reigns was significant. There was also the ill fated, and in some ways much more charismatic Mary Queen of Scots who died by order of her English sister Queen Elizabeth.

However the boat is also named in memory of another wonderful lady named Mary who was known affectionately by her family and friends as “Blossom”.
